I got a letter today from TexacoCard, who I have a credit card with. This company are brilliant, they let you choose your charges, PAR and balance transfer rates on a sliding scale (obviously you can't have everything and its a compromise situation) but I was offered balance transfers at 1.9% for life!
Now they are telling us that Lloyd's TBS no longer want offer a card in conjunction with them.... B'STARDS!
I bet you that Lloyd's have no intention of honouring that rate! Lloyd's will be sending us a letter shortly:
"This communication will include details covering cardholders who elected to pa a fee on their card..." (bet: no longer available) "... those who have a lifetime balance offer ..." (bet: raised to a stupid APR) "... and those on the cashback programme." (bet: no longer offered)
Lloyd's TSB are the same bank who pushed my brother into a £3000 loan to pay off his debts, even though he was un-employed at the time, and had no income whatsoever (at the time he did not qualify for job-seekers allowance).
Lloyd's TSB were also the same bank that was offering my (now) late grandfather a £7000 loan at 15% because he was up to his £150 overdraft limit. He had more sense!
My views on Lloyd's TSB? I am not going to go directly to them unless they offer me 3.9% or below. Otherwise I would rather pay 6.9% for Sainsbury's Bank or evn 13.9% for a mainstream bank than give any money to them!
